For this year's Teachers' Reading Challenge we are exploring 'Diverse Realities' and have asked expert educators to give us their recommendations on topics within that theme. Stephen Dilley has given us this fantastic book list for secondary-aged pupils, on the theme of Reclaiming Stories- tales that subvert genres, or bring fresh perspectives and often unheard voices to the fore. This is a rich, fresh and timely resource for you to download and use in your classroom or library. Stephen Dilley is Head of English at a secondary school in Reading, Berkshire. He has been a teacher judge and more recently a member of longlisting panels for the UKLA Book Awards, and is an associate teacher for the English & Media Centre. He is also the English link governor at his local primary school.
